Bambounou has been on my ‘must get everything by this artist’ radar for some time now! In the past few months, Bambounou’s own brand of highly percussive dance music has really started to grab people’s attention. His music is a tapestry of rolling percussion and pitching synths that is instantly recognisable and most importantly highly danceable. Bambounou‘s Animism E.P is due for release on the 26th of this month and is track for track pure gold. Featuring three outstanding original tracks (Nappy Head, Aladji and Flaly) and some fantastic remixes from French Fries, Lol Boys & Teki Latex, Art Nouveau and Dre Skull, the Animism E.P is a strong contender for my favourite release of the year. Having first heard Nappy Head a while back i was eagerly awaiting for it to see the light of day, the vocal is a strangely seductive affair that grooves tirelessly. To keep you guys from tearing out your hair in anticipation, we have been given permission to post the bonus track Dogon for your listening pleasure. This track yet again showcases Bambounou‘s talent for conjuring up some of the most shamanistically entrancing music. Dogon is a calypso influenced dance track that bangs relentlessly, with a cut up vocal and enthralling rhythms I cannot imagine anything that could make me wanna dance my summer away.
